It seems a bit of a daunting task for me to consider trying to actively manage and post to a blog. In doing some introspection and self-appraisal over the last several years, I’ve come to realize that I just don’t have a lot to say! Those who are close to me and have been hanging out with me on an intimate basis smile quietly to themselves when they read this. Oh, I can speak when spoken to, no doubt. I have some opinions, but making small talk, starting a conversation, prattling on and on about my view of the price of tea in China, has always seemed futile and foreign to me. Who cares what I think? And why do so many people have such ego-centric tendencies, so much so that they vocalize their opinions constantly on almost everything? Having said all of that, you won’t find it surprising to read that I have always scratched my head a little bit about blogs. Never really understood them. And yet…here we are.
It seems obvious to me as I’ve tried to further my web development skills and to grab a bigger slice of the social media pie that I need to be totally immersed in all things “blog”. So this, my fellow banjo-philes and blog enthusiasts, is the beginning of my adventure! I am changing. Molding myself. Transforming into…. *SUPER BLOGGER* !!! Or something like that.
*Sigh* The few blogs that I’ve read on-line have pretty much been instructional, useful, full of content, etc., and have actually been useful sources of knowledge or advice. That’s what I hope for this here blog of mine. Aside form my rambling on and on today about the mysteries of blogging, I hope to make this blog be something that banjo players and others will come back to for insight, content, inspiration, and enjoyment. Can I succeed? That remains to be seen! This old dog is adopting new tricks…I’ll be pretending I have something worthwhile to say, and along the way maybe I can convince you that I do.

Paul – great initial posts, considering you don’t really have ‘much to say.’ Good luck with this effort, and be sure to remind people to NOT throw things at me whenever they hear me play any of my stringed instruments – especially banjo. All the best and full acceleration! Cheers! – Mark
I used to write a weekly blog. But I started pickin’ that old five-string minnow dipper, and my budding writing career went away like dust in the wind. (Hmm…I wonder if you could bluegrass “Dust In The Wind.”)
