(Report from the field)
It’s a beautiful day here in Kendallville, Indiana, where I’m attending the Tri-State Bluegrass Festival. This is a great festival that I’ve been coming to since 1995, and I always love coming down here.
As I write this post, I’m sitting here watching The Davidson Brothers from across the pond in Australia. What an eye-opening experience! This is a super-talented group, and they illustrate the fact that bluegrass has universal appeal to it. It’s fun to hear their accents when they speak between songs, but once they start picking and singing, you’d think you were listening to any contemporary American group. (Note: I’ll be doing a full blog post about this festival in a day or two, and I’ll have their pic attached to that post.
Great weather, good entertainment, good food, lots of jamming (see pic below) all make this a fantastic festival to attend. I’m signing off to go jam…you should make plans to attend this great festival next year. You won’t be sorry.
We were at Kendalville also it was our 26 anniversary ( my wife’s and I) funny it only seems like 25. we played all night long Thursday Friday and Saturday. Kickin Grass joined in Saturday night they are a very nice group of folks. I always look forward to going to Kendalville twice a year Hope to meet you there next year we are usually over by the horse arena on the NorthEast side of the Fair grounds
