Hi
Finger picks question: I see in the site photo with the “Riffmaster” entry, that the bills of the fingerpicks are curved way up, around the fingertips.
In a gallery of closeups of pro-pickers’ fingertips, this shape was very common.
MIne are only slightly curved up, to about the point where extensions of my fingernails would be. Should I, in fact, do the same?
That picture is pretty close to how you should have your picks. I’ve paid attention to how the pro’s wear theirs, and I have talked to the pro’s, and this is usually how it’s done. You get greater accuracy and reach with the long blades, wrapper over the end of your finger and even sticking back behind your finger. If you go over to my website at http://www.banjosrule.com and click on the lessons tab, you’ll see a whole discussion I posted about picks, addressing this very topic. Please let me know what you think.
