It’s festival time in Michigan, Sept. 18-20

 Come on over to Lowell

This coming weekend, Sept. 18-20, is the 14th annual West Michigan Bluegrass Music Association Fallfest Bluegrass Festival. (Whew! That was a mouthfull.) The weather looks to be beautiful, and there’s some great talent lined up.

The festival is held at the Kent County Fairgrounds, in Lowell, Michigan, which is a really nice facility for a festival. It’s a large fairgrounds with room for camping, a great stage area, and plenty of out-buildings for covered shelter when it comes to jamming ime.

Instrument workshops

On Saturday morning there are 4 instrument workshops: banjo, guitar, mandolin, and fiddle, as well as a beginner’s slow jam. And as always there will be jamming around the campfires at night.

Hardline Drive!!

The headliner this year is the East Michigan group Hardline Drive. Ladies & gentlemen, boys & girls, children of all ages, if you haven’t seen Hardline Drive play and sing, you’ve been missing out. Be sure and catch their show, you’ll love it.

Fun for the entire family

The Kent County Fairgrounds is a very nice campground with shower facilities, located right in Lowell, where you can find shopping and some nice restaurants.  The acts are top-notch, there are instrument workshops, a band scramble on Saturday, childrens activities, and open mic band tryouts on Sunday. Oh, and don’t forget to be present on Sunday for the $100 drawing!

One of my bands is playing on Friday night at 8:25, so hopefully I’ll see you there!
