Something new: a video blog
I had the fortunate experience of being asked to accompany my friend and banjo student Tim Slanczka in his quest to pick up a new banjo recently. We teamed up with my other good friend and banjo student Kathy Tuinhoff (Kathy works with Tim and the two of them are personal friends) as well as Tim’s wife Ellen, and the four of us made a day out of it.
See Tim’s decision making process
When Kathy emailed me the invite to join the two of them and Tim’s wife for this little outing, she happened to mention that it might be a good idea to bring along my camera to “document” the event. Well, the big light bulb immediately went off over my head, scaring my little lovebird (Mr. Hobson is his name) and I thought "you know, I should bring my camera and document this event!" I’m so glad I thought of it.
So grab some popcorn and your favorite foo-foo drink, press play, and sit back to enjoy the fun…

What a great idea to film this. What a store! What lovely people. I was totally charmed by the video, thank you for the insight. Great sounding banjo too.
When you come to Michigan I’ll take you over to Elderly’s so you can buy your $4,000 banjo Elizabeth!
NICE choice there Tim! That sounded really good over the video…
Ya gotta love the peghead…. eye candy!
You know, it’s just not fair when my students have a better banjo than me!!
